National Tree

Since the early 1960's until his death, 
African American artist Douglas Phillips designed our National Tree. 
Here are a few images below.





Douglas Phillips was introduced to designing the lighting for the National Tree through his association with Frank La Guisa who worked for General Electric. In 1976, they collaborated on the tree toper, the first of its kind, for the National Tree. Douglas began designing the trees sometime after this. More specifics to follow.
